What we do

Community partners

The communities we reach across the United Energy network are distinctive in different ways, and clubs and associations of all kinds are often at their hearts.

We’re pleased to partner with organisations and events in the communities in which we operate. By getting involved we’re able to support local communities and promote electrical safety.

UE Around the Bay

The annual UE Around the Bay attracts more than 8,000 bike riders participating in six distances from 20km to 300km around the iconic Port Phillip Bay and culminating at an event village in Albert Park. UE partners with Bicycle Network for the event which offers something that everyone can enjoy from young families to seasoned cyclists. Fundraising through the event benefits The Smith Family which supports education outcomes for disadvantaged youth. Money raised by riders helps provide school books, uniforms and shoes, and access to out-of-school learning and mentoring programs.

Portsea Surf Life Saving Club

In December 2020, UE became the Major Club Partner and naming rights sponsor of the Portsea Surf Life Saving Club’s education programs. The five-year deal with Victoria’s largest surf lifesaving club supports the training for lifesavers deployed on beaches across the Peninsula and aligns two organisations committed to community safety. Beach safety is important to the thousands of visitors to the Peninsula each summer and the new Portsea Club, powered by UE, has become a centre of excellence for training lifesavers from Nippers to professionals.
