Annual Notification 2023

As your electricity network we’re an essential service provider. We manage the poles, wires and other infrastructure that delivers power to your property’s electricity meter. We own and manage this meter and send data about the amount of power you consume to your energy retailer (who then issues your electricity bill).

Each year we’re required to provide an update about their electricity supply (so don’t worry, it isn’t spam). We’ve been looking forward to sharing how we:

  • have performed against our reliability targets
  • harness technology to make electricity supply safe and reliable
  • help you manage your electricity usage to reduce bills
  • ensure solar, batteries or electric vehicle battery and electric vehicle connections are easy and smooth
  • support local community activities.

Everything we do is to provide electricity when and where you need it, and in an affordable way. It’s also about supporting your choices about home energy assets.

  1. Be Safe.  Your health and safety is the priority
  2. Be Smart.  If the power goes out, you’ll want to stay connected
  3. Be Ready.  Have a plan in place for back-up power.

We’ve got tips about how you can action these steps as well as a brochure that can be printed.

Going electric? We can help!

As more and more people embrace going electric, we’re helping households to take advantage of the opportunities and get the most value from your investments. With so many choices available it’s hard to know where to start – but if you want to install solar, buy an electric vehicle (EV) or go all electric in your home, we have the information and advice you need.

There’s more to it than you’d think, so to make the process as smooth as possible we’ve pulled together some tips. You’ll find information ranging from how to check your solar export limit, things to think about when you charge your EV and even how to reduce your bill with time-of-use-tariffs.

We can also help you to track your electricity usage if you sign-up to myEnergy. This allows you to see which appliances use the most energy in your home. While you’re there, you can also choose how you’d like to be notified about any interruptions to your power supplies.

How we charge you for our services

Did you know that your electricity bill is made up of seven separate charges? Ours is wrapped up in the supply charge and covers all distribution and metering services.

The Australian Energy Regulator oversees our business and every five years approves a business plan. This plan ultimately determines the amount households and businesses are charged for network services. Building this plan takes years and we think it’s important that you have your say during the process.

There are many ways to get involved, including attending forums, sharing ideas, or providing your views via surveys, so visit our engagement website to find out more.
