United Energy is seeking approval from the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning for a new powerline connecting the Hastings Gas Energy Facility to our network.
The new utility installation will serve as a vital link between the new gas generation plant constructed by Esso Australia and our energy grid, increasing the supply of reliable energy to our customers.
This investment will facilitate the construction of 15 new poles, 28 replacement poles, associated ground stays and approximately 3.8 kilometres of overhead conductor.
Approximately 10 square meters of native vegetation at Long Island Drive and 1 square meter of non-native vegetation at Barclay Crescent is expected to be cleared, in addition to pruning of established Cyprus Pines to the north of Bayview Road and minor pruning of native trees to the south of Bayview Road.
Vegetation clearance is done to ensure a safe distance between our new powerlines and vegetation.
