new customers - assigning network tariffs
United Energy assigns new customers (new connections) coming into United Energy's territory for the first time the appropriate network tariff. The determination of the appropriate network tariff is based on the customer's expected annual energy consumption and/or maximum demand and type of metering.
From 1 April 2010, the Victorian Government requested a moratorium on the mandatory assignment of Time of Use tariffs. However there are circumstances as in the case of co-generation (PFIT) where UED has been exempt from this.
