Customer Communications
The smart meter rollout program for all residential and small business electricity customers will progressively run from late 2009 to the end of 2013. You will receive letters from United Energy Distribution Pty Ltd (UED) advising when the new smart meters are to be installed in your area.
The letters will contain information from the Victorian Government indicating why smart meters are being installed and an introductory letter from UED indicating that smart meters are about to be installed in your area. There will be another letter sent to you, closer to the smart meter installation, advising you of a 10 day period during which the smart meter installation has been scheduled.
After the smart meter has been installed, information will be left that will include the following:
- Instructions on how to read the new smart meter
- Contact details if you require more information about:
- The smart meter installation
- Faults and emergencies
