CUSTOMERS
UE is committed to providing a safe and reliable electricity supply to all customers, together with a high level of customer service. But where does UE fit within the broader electricity supply chain?
There are four distinct parts of the electricity supply chain:
Electricity generators are the power stations that generate the electricity.
Electricity transmission is the network that transports electricity, from the power stations to the major distribution points (terminal stations) in Victoria, via large tower structures.
Electricity distributors are businesses like UE that own, operate and maintain the electricity network.
Electricity retailers are companies who buy the electricity in bulk from generators and sell it to you. They arrange with local distributors for the electricity to be delivered to your property through the wires in your street. You should contact your electricity retailer in relation to all billing enquiries and connection or disconnection. Your retailer will also supply you with key information on payment assistance and final meter readings. All customers are able to choose their retailer, and irrespective of the choice you make, the same wires (owned by your distributor) will deliver the same safe and reliable electricity to you.
